Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 refused to testify today before organized crime prosecutor Vilma Ruskoska, for his role in the major racketeering scandal.

A seemingly tanned and blanched Boki was taken from the Sutka prison to the office of OJO state prosecutors today for the first questioning since mid July, when his arrest sparked a wide political crisis. His lawyer Saso Dukovski revealed that the detained showman will not be testifying today, not because he chooses to defend himself by remaining silent, but because he wants to access all the evidence against him and believes he hasn’t been allowed to do so.

This is the first order to interrogate him after he was detained. It is not acceptable to be given a report that the investigation is being completed at a time we have no idea what the evidence against him is. Under the rules of the European Court of Human Rights, the defendant needs to be informed about all allegations against him from day one, Dukovski said.

Boki 13 is charged with extorting millions from businessmen, using his ties with former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva and leading officials in the ruling SDSM party. Janeva is going to be interrogated for the second time on Tuesday.

Dukovski warned that Boki 13 is in poor health. “He is vomiting all the time. People mock him, say that he is pregnant. He is being treated with simple infusion at a time when his life is in danger. Once his digestive function is disrupted, that’s it, Dukovski said. The frequent medical treatments Boki 13 receives in hospitals in Skopje sparked allegations that he is using those to meet and negotiate with Government representatives over the story he should give. Dukovski said that the issues Boki 13 faces come from the gastric bypass surgery he underwent before his arrest.
