Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 had an angry outburst at the start of the Racket trial today, and claimed that he has stomach cancer.

You can’t keep me on sleeping pills. I need a surgery. I have cancer. You’re torturing me, Boki said when prosecutor Vilma Ruskoska entered the courthouse.

Boki 13 is charged with extorting millions of euros from businessmen, with the help of his close friend, disgraced former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva. He’s the only member of the group of three defendants who is still detained, while Janeva and Zoran Mileski were released into house arrest. Boki underwent a botched gastric bypass surgery in the Sistina hospital, co-owned by one of the main extortion victims Jordan Orce Kamcev, and has demanded to be released from prison and allowed to receive proper medical attention. After his outburst he was briefly removed from the courthouse.

The hearing today is held to present photographs of materials that were seized from Janeva’s home, after at the last hearing the court saw the haul of designer clothes, weapons and art works seized from Boki. The prosecution claims it was bought with the money they group extorted, while critics claim that the prosecution is still avoiding investigating the actual flow of money, most of which likely ended up in the ruling SDSM party.
