Allegations of widespread bribing of Roma voters in Strumica are being reported by local citizens.

According to sources on the ground, organizers of this type of electoral fraud are equipped with electoral lists and are making sure all Roma citizens on the lists vote. Police officers are on the ground but ignore visible bribery attempts and pressure on the voters. Pressures against the Roma community are widespread during elections in Macedonia, with the ruling parties preying on the poorest families.

Strumica is the political stronghold of Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and his SDSM party.
