Our intention is to commit to the implementation of the Agreement with Bulgaria through the appointment of a special representative and with joint efforts to find a solution that will unblock the European process of the country, and will be in the spirit of European values with full respect for our dignity.

This was stated today at the joint press conference of Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and the new Special Representative of the Government for Bulgaria, Vlado Buckovski, who previously had a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Osmani pointed out that a number of mechanisms are being created through which attempts are made to strengthen trust in the political dialogue between the two countries, especially, as he pointed out, to restore confidence in the 2017 Friendship Agreement.

He said that it was important that in this process is not a technical person appointed, but a former Prime Minister of the country, who during his term had made a significant contribution to improving relations between the two countries, and who was also a good expert on bilateral relations between the two countries.

Buckovski said that in his term he will cooperate with Minister Osmani and the Government in joint efforts to find a solution that will unblock the European process of the country.

I hope that with my experience, with the trust I have in the Bulgarian public, I will be a clear signal of the commitment of our Government in fulfilling the obligations undertaken by the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement of August 1, 2017, said Buckovski.
