Discussion of the methodology of the integration process should not slow down decision-making on the start of accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias says in an interview with “To Vima” daily about the French positions he adds that Greece supports them, MIA correspondent in Athens reported.

The Greek Foreign Minister explains that it is in Greece’s interest for the countries of the region to become part of the European family, and as regards of the possibility of VMRO-DPMNE winning the elections in our country, he points out that Athens does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, but expects that whoever is in power, the Prespa Agreement will be fully implemented.

We support France’s position on the need to rethink and optimize the methodology of the integration process. But proper discussion should not slow down decision-making on the start of accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania. Regarding the possibility of VMRO-DPMNE winning the elections, I repeat that our country does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. We expect our neighbor and soon NATO ally, the Republic of North Macedonia, independently of the governments, to fully and accurately implement the Prespa Agreement, Dendias says.

Regarding the possibility of decoupling the European path of Macedonia and Albania, the Greek Foreign Minister explains that Greece wants the two countries to move forward together.

Speaking about last week’s visit to Skopje, Dendias says the aim was to deepen bilateral co-operation and to express support for the European perspective.
