Despite his expected resignation, Zaev will attend the Open Balkan meeting in Tirana next week

Even after he resigned as leader of SDSM and is expected to resign as Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev intends to attend the meeting of the Open Balkan/Mini Schengen initiative in Tirana on Monday.

Zaev will meet with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Serbian Presdient Aleksandar Vucic. It’s not clear whether Zaev’s successor as SDSM leader Dimitar Kovacevski will accompany him.

The Open Balkan initiative was raised by the three countries as their EU prospects began to become uncertain.
