Alliance of Albanians leader Ziadin Sela accused the SDSM – DUI Government of perverting justice and the rule of law to protect its official. Sela pointed to a number of high profile criminal cases in which top DUI party officials were acquitted or are not even investigated despite clear examples of corruption.

This, Sela said, includes the major Deutsche Telekom scandal which directly implicated DUI leader Ali Ahmeti and his former deputy Musa Xhaferi.

We are facing a massacre in the judiciary, where dozens of judges and prosecutors are under direct DUI control. They take the DUI side in every case they manage, Sela said, naming a DUI appointed ministers and government officials who, he said, run the judiciary.

Sela also named members of the Administrative Court who, he said, work for DUI and protect the party’s interests.

DUI appointed Shpend Devaja, husband of their official Teuta Arifi, to the Supreme Court. People close to DUI ran the appeals courts, including in Gostivar, where a judge is close to the owner of the Durmo Turs company, Sela said.

The company owner is still on trial for the disastrous 2019 bus crash that killed 16 people. “In any instance, all it takes is one phone call from Mala Recica (DUI’s party headquarters) and the criminal investigation is stopped or sabotaged. This happens any time DUI interests are affected”, Sela said.
