In an interview with Faktor.mk, Igor Durlovski spoke about considering being on the list of the upcoming parliamentary elections. He will head the list in the fifth election district, and he did not decide immediately after Hristijan Mickoski’s offer, but is now convinced that VMRO-DPMNE will win the election.

Durlovski is an opera singer and until a few years ago no one in the country, including himself, would believe that he would one day head an electoral list.

What are his views? First about the decision to run in the election as head of MP candidate list.

Serving the homeland, in every way and even through politics, is a duty and an honor. I even think that greater presence of prominent intellectuals and artists on our political scene can be useful and refreshing. After long consideration, I accepted the challenge and responsibility given by VMRO DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski to first be part of the party’s strategic team of proven professionals from various social spheres and to lead the list in the fifth election district, and together with the people to end to these dark days, let us restore the optimism and dignity of the Macedonian, Durlovski told “Faktor”.

He says the fight for a better life and a happier present, which we see still lacks, should be led in a dignified manner.

I believe we can bring about better international success and a solution to the foreign policy problem. With a different approach of Macedonian diplomacy to identity issues, the Euro-Atlantic future is real and possible. I’m sure that fight is a lot harder, but when led by people with strong energy and vision, victory is certain. With these elections, the Macedonian citizens again have the opportunity to choose to whom they will give their confidence in achieving the future strategic goals of the state and improving the quality of their lives, says Durlovski.

Asked what are his key observations about the rule of the current political establishment, Durlovski says it is unacceptable to disrespect the will of the people.

On the contrary, those entrusted with state governance should unite rather than divide on all grounds, be side by side with every citizen and follow their pulse, mood, especially when it comes to big and sensitive, state and national topics. But one must also look critically at all current social problems and situations, ie. to have a more realistic feel for the needs of everyday life of the average citizen, in order to promote the overall social environment, he says.
