Two former top officials of Zoran Zaev’s SDSM party spoke out about the crisis SDSM is in after the tremendous defeat in the local elections. Frosina Remenski and Aleksandar Kiracovski were removed as SDSM Vice President and Secretary General after it became clear they are involved in the major Racket scandal – Remenski now faces charges for abuse of office and fraud.
Speaking for Shenja TV, she put the chances that VMRO-DPMNE will form a new majority in Parliament at even odds.

The chances are 50-50, if we want to be realistic. I’m a social-democrat and I want the current coalition to remain. But the decision is now up to the coalition partners, Remenski said.

In a separate interview, Kiracovski said that he expected other officials to join Zaev in his resignation announcement.

It will be difficult to replace Zaev. I expected that the rest of the party leadership will show solidarity with him and will resign too. Even though the leader said that he feels the most responsible, he was not solely responsible, Kiracovski said.
