Afrim Gashi’s Alternative Party will hold a meeting of its central board on Tuesday to discuss whether to join the Zaev Government. The party has four seats in Parliament and is formally part of the opposition bloc – it supported the vote of no confidence in Zaev last week.

But after that vote failed, Zaev reached out to Gashi to fill the empty place in his coalition after the BESA party left. Zaev currently has 59 of 60 votes in Parliament, not enough to pass most legislation or even begin a session of Parliament.

It’s expected that the Alternative Party will demand more seats in Government than BESA held – BESA controlled the Agriculture Ministry and had two deputy ministers.
