After last week Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov threatened that the country would have to make a compromise on Goce Delcev if it wants a date for opening EU accession talks in October, he sent a slightly more moderate message at the economic forum in Plovdiv on Wednesday.

I hope that together with our colleagues from North Macedonia in our committee on history, we will adopt the necessary conclusions as soon as possible, so that the Treaty on good neighborliness can be respected, and of course, we can continue to fully support their bid to become member not only of NATO but also of the EU, Borisov said.

It is a Bulgarian hero who wanted, who sacrificed, who gave everything he had for the freedom of Macedonia. In the same way, Che Guevara, who by nationality is an Argentinean, went to fight for freedom of Cuba, he added.
