The Zoran Zaev Government condemned the act of protesters in Australia who set fire to effigies of Zaev and his deputy Radmila Sekerinska. The protests were held on September 8th, against the imposed name change.

The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia strongly condemns the Vandal and indecent behavior of a small group of protesters in front of the consulate of the Republic of North Macedonia in Melbourne. This acts damage the image of the state, the Macedonian people and the citizens of North Macedonia before hte democratic public, the Governments’ press release said.

During his Colored Revolution, Zaev and his supporters regularly threatened their political opponents with “bombs”, called them “murderers”, threw paint at monuments and official buildings and at one point painted the entire Macedonia Square red to falsely claim a Government cover-up in the police murder of a young man.
