Government wants to cut salaries of striking kindergarten teachers

The Government reiterated that it will cut salaries of kindergarten teachers for the period they spent on strike in late April.

This is a form of pressure while negotiations between the Government and public teachers’ unions are still on-going.
The strike itself is on a pause. Kindergarten teachers have less workers’ rights protections compared to school teachers and the Government is taking advantage of this.
