A common conclusion from the Government session, after the presentation of the Draft Concept for Elementary Education in Macedonia, is to conduct an extensive public debate with the active participation of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Bureau for Development of Education, and through a maximally inclusive process of all stakeholders to come to the best solutions and high agreement on the announced concept of elementary education, as well as to clarify some of the questions that citizens, teachers, parents and students have about the announced new concept of education.

The presentation clearly showed that the proposal for the broad societal studies class does not abolish history class, but its contents are expected to become a mandatory part of the new curriculum, and that the new concept does not envision reduction in the number of history, geography and civics teachers, but continue to plan classes together, in order for students to get the best possible knowledge in the most efficient way, the government said after holding its 32nd session.
