Bulgarian official Borislav Sarafov said that the investigation into the deadly Besa bus disaster that happened three weeks ago is almost finished. The officials are still waiting for several forensics reports to be completed, including the crucial report from fire experts.

43 passengers and two drivers died in the disaster when the bus going from Istanbul to Skopje hit a fence on the Sofia – Dupnica stretch of the Struma highway and burst into flames. Bulgarian investigators already said that they have determined the reason why the bus burnt so quickly, but havent’ released it yet. In absence of this answer, speculations have spread in the public, that the driver was smuggling cheap Turkish diesel, or even possibly chemicals used to produce heroin.
