Italy’s Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio is paying Tuesday an official visit to the Republic of Macedonia.

Di Maio will meet with his host Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, after which he will meet with President Stevo Pendarovski and Interim Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski, as well as with leaders of political parties.

The talks will focus on the future of the European Union enlargement process, following the presentation of the new EU methodology and Italy’s strong and active support for the start of Macedonia’s negotiations in that context.

At the meetings opportunities for deepening political and economic relations, overall bilateral cooperation in all areas of common interest, as well as regional current developments and cooperation will be discussed.
