VMRO-DPMNE Secretary General Igor Janusev pointed to the recent polls showing that the opposition party is well ahead of the ruling SDSM party and announced that a change at the helm is a matter of months. Janusev said that the major racketeering scandals caused by the Zaev Government are clearly taking being seen by the public as unacceptable.

A large majority of 66 percent believe that the Zaev Government is involved in the Racket scandal. It is clear that the public is not happy with the rule of the criminal SDSM party and its boss Zoran Zaev. The polls also show that VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski is taking the party into the right direction. We are months away from the early general elections, and the trend lines are clear, Janusev said.

VMRO-DPMNE leads SDSM with 39.8 percent of the votes against 31.2 percent in a MKD.mk poll which Janusev said will translate into 100.000 votes difference, or 10 more seats in Parliament. On an individual basis, Mickoski is close to even with Zaev’s rating, advancing from a much lower level given his deficit in name recognition.
