State prosecutors have denied a report from the Expres news site, which reported that outgoing Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva was put on a black list of people who can’t leave the country.
Janeva is still not officially charged for her role in the corruption scandal, which has her suspected of racketeering businessmen who she filed charges against, but she was forced to resign shortly after the alleged intermediary Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 was arrested on Monday.

Janeva has not been seen in public since Boki 13’s arrest and she requested a sick leave from the Special Prosecutor’s Office until her resignation is activated, as most of her fellow prosecutors publicly denounced her at a press conference. Four years ago, she was presented as the solution to crime and corruption in Macedonia and was fetted by diplomats and visiting statesmen, as she piled criminal charges against officials of the VMRO-DPMNE party and cleared the way for Zoran Zaev to grab power and rename and redefine Macedonia.
