The KSS union promptly rejected the proposal made by the Committee on infectious diseases, that all public sector employees are required to take the coronavirus vaccine. The proposal was made today and is sent to the Government for its approval, and it would force employees to either take the vaccine, show proof of recently overcoming the virus or take costly Covid tests every few days.

Vaccination is a matter of personal choice. It can’t be imposed in this way, as Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce intends. The alternative option, to take Covid tests, is unacceptable, given that 80,000 public sector employees receive a minimum wage, which is not enough to survive through the month, the union said.
