Kumanovo Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski protested the fact that the SDSM party did not invite him to the meeting of its Central Board yesterday evening. Dimitrievski considers himself as still a member of the party, despite his confrontation with Zoran Zaev and his Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski during the local elections, when he won re-election with an independent campaign. For this, he was kicked out of the party, a decision he refuses to accept.

I’m deeply surprised with the attitude against me, and the continued refusal to invite me at the meetings of the Central Board. This disrespect shows a lack of democratic capacity on a part of the leadership, Dimitrievski said.

He sees a role for himself in the next leadership of the party, that is supposed to be put in place by the next party leader. Zoran Zaev resigned yesterday and endorsed Dimitar Kovacevski, who also comes from the Kumanovo branch of the party, as its next leader.
