Member of Parliament Monika Zajkova, from the Liberal-Democratic Party – part of the ruling coalition, is admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic with fever caused by Covid-19.

She posted a message informing the public that she suffers from fatigue and constant fever, and that her parents are also infected, but with milder symptoms. She urged the citizens to be careful given how serious the disease is.

The ruling coalition has been forced to rely on the opposition to provide quorum for less contested legislation, since Zaev’s coalition has only 62 seats in the 120 seat Parliament, and any illness in its ranks can make even holding a session very difficult. The opposition provided the quorum so that amendments to the budget can be adopted, but it did not allow holding a vote on the very controversial appointment of a Zaev loyalist judge to the Constitutional Court.
