The Levica party said that it does not recognize the outcome of the census as legitimate and will propose criminal charges against the organizers. Levica called for a boycott of the census, primarily over the decision to include the diaspora in it, and about 132,000 resident citizens of Macedonia boycotted, not to mention the overwhelming boycott of the Macedonian diaspora angered at the current regime in the country, the imposed name change and the numerous humiliations of Macedonia. This, according to Branislav Krmov from Levica, is enough to consider the census illegitimate.

This was a political operation conducted by DUI, and approved by SDS. The census included the diaspora, which is not done anywhere in the world. It allowed people to be counted by others, who would provide their identity number or unspecified “credible documents”. This led to the falsified results announced today, Krmov said.

Krmov pointed to the number of 300,000 citizens, who have issued passports, but were not counted in the census – out of them 132,000 live in Macedonia.
