The 6th presidential elections take place Sunday in the Republic of Macedonia. The voters will choose between VMRO-DPMNE-backed presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and SDSM-backed candidate Stevo Pendarovski.

A total of 1,808,131 citizens are eligible to vote in 3.480 polling stations across the country and in 32 diplomatic and consular offices abroad.

Sunday’s vote begins at 7am and will last until 7pm.

3,381 domestic and about 520 foreign observers have been accredited by the SEC to monitor the presidential run-off. SEC also accredited 289 translators.

Other embassies, including those of Russia, France, the UK, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Albania, Slovakia, also have their own representatives accredited to monitor the election.

The diaspora, the ill and the disabled persons, the internally displaced persons, inmates and detainees voted on Saturday.
