Nobody can tell the Macedonian people who we are and what language we speak, according to international and European law, said Deputy Prime Minister for EU Affairs Nikola Dimitrov in an interview with TV Kanal 5 on Friday.

He stressed that not even in 7 months, 7 years, 700 years will there be a government that will agree to discuss the Macedonian language and Macedonian identity.

Misirkov wrote about our Macedonian language in 1903, the language was codified in 1945, it was one of the official languages in SFRY, now it is in the United Nations and in the European Union, said Dimitrov.

He asked if it is a condition for joining the EU to have the same views as other countries.

What I am doing at the moment for me is much more of a mission than a career. I want to leave the next generation a better state, a prosperous state, so that our children have better starting positions than the ones we had, he said.
