Officially, three presidential applications were submitted to the State Election Commission – Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, supported by VMRO-DPMNE, Stevo Pendarovski as SDSM candidate and Blerim Reka, candidate of the Albanian opposition. In the meantime, surveys and public opinion polls began on which presidential candidate would win more votes, which would be the next president of Macedonia.

In a poll conducted by the Makfax research center, VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova leads with 40.6% of the votes ahead of SDSM’s candidate Stevo Pendarovski, who has 36.9% of the votes.

So far, the candidates had their own activities, visits to citizens, social networking addresses, speeches at meetings. A week’s break follows, when, according to the Electoral Code, they are not entitled to such activities. The official campaign starts on April 1. The elections are scheduled for April 21.
