Following the scandalous interview Zoran Zaev gave for the Bulgarian BGNES news agency, in which he accepted practically all Bulgarian positions on Macedonian history and national identity, VMRO-DPMNE called for a protest tomorrow afternoon.

Come out now, before it is too late. If our grandfathers fought merely an “administration” between 1941 and 1944, as Zaev now claims, that makes them ‘terrorists’, and not liberators. No! Our freedom is the result of a popular struggle against an occupier, with many victims. The ASNOM assembly is our second Ilinden uprising and the liberation struggle is part of the European struggle of free nations, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.

He urged the entire public to come for a motorized protest tomorrow afternoon, at 18h. Protesters will drive from the Boris Trajkovski sports hall down to the Government building.

Zaev’s comments were broadly condemned, not only from the right, but also from many corners of his own left wing coalition.
