VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski today served as an election observer in Kondovo, near Skopje. A number of other VMRO officials also observed the voting, mainly in parts of the country which have had ballot stuffing or violent election day incidents in the past.

We know that there were very fast voters in Kondovo in the past, especially during the referendum, Mickoski said, referring to the widespread ballot stuffing when, according to the official records of the local electoral commissions, in the final hours people voted at a rate of 1 every 2 seconds.

During the unruly general elections in 2008, fighting between ethnic Albanian parties even saw people killed, including in Kondovo.

The ruling coalition candidate Stevo Pendarovski counts on votes from ethnic Albanians, in places like Kondovo, to make up for losing the ethnic Macedonian vote to the VMRO candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova.
