VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski said that the Government abused its power and that there were irregularities reported throughout the voting in the presidential elections today.

The day of elections is a celebration, despite all the reports of irregularities and violations. I’m receiving information from across the country that there are numerous cases. It is clear that the powers that be and Zoran Zaev are not resting today and they want to violently elect a President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mickoski said when he voted in Skopje earlier today.

He said that police is out in force in crucial battlegrounds, such as Ohrid and Novo Selo, who voted for mayors on top of the presidential elections today. During the day, the opposition party said that its activists were intimidated by the police in Stip, and numerous instances of bribery were also reported.

Mickoski said that, despite all the irregularities, support for the opposition candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova is such that he expects her to win and become the first woman President of Macedonia.
