Zoran Zaev’s brother Vice Zaev was meeting with one of the defendants in the Racket case. Surely they didn’t talk novels or poetry, I presume the topic of discussion were business deals, and inevitably, the racketeering scandal, said VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski, following an accidental revelation at the Racket trial that a surveillance tape caught Vice Zaev together with the defendant Zoran Mileski – Zoki Kiceec.

Zaev kept insisting that he was not involved in the scandal. But now we see that the defendant Katica Janeva was visiting the Prime Minister’s residence. Again, she certainly didn’t go there to see the security guards. I presume she met Zoran Zaev and discussed the racketeering scandal. It’s clear to anybody interested to get to the bottom of this case, it’s clear who was the chief organizer and inspiration behind the Racket case, Mickoski said. One of the surveillance recordings reveals that shortly before her arrest Janeva went to a government quarter on Mt. Vodno, which includes the residences of both President Pendarovski and then Prime Minister Zaev.

Mickoski said that it is now completely clear why Zaev insisted that the law on state prosecutors, which was scandalously pushed through Parliament this Sunday, was written in such a way. The law will entrench Zaev loyalists to key positions in the prosecution and would also ban the use of wiretaps as indications that prosecutors can use to open criminal cases.
