Healthcare Minister Venko Filipce confirmed that Government officials who required coronavirus testing were fast-tracked in the public sector, even as hundreds of citizens are being denied free tests.

Filipce confirmed this in response to a journalist question, that came after Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski and a number of other lower level officials contracted the coronavirus. According to Filipce, the fast-tracking of Government officials over other citizens, with more severe symptoms, was done to ensure the normal functioning of the Government.

Citizens who have symptoms but do not manage to get a hold of a publicly funded test, are forced to pay 65 EUR at a private clinic. Further outrage was caused today when it was announced that the Healthcare Ministry will charge for the use of 13,000 quick coronavirus tests, that were donated to the Ministry.
