A planned police operation against drug trafficking was carried out Thursday night on several locations in Skopje and on the territory of Macedonia.

Drugs, money, weapons and other objects were found, three people were arrested, and one is wanted. Criminal charges will be brought against them.

The Interior Ministry said that extensive criminal investigation had been carried in the past three months, and the aim was to crackdown organized crime group in Skopje, which was identified as an organized crime group with a defined strict hierarchical setup, which deals with the procurement of a large amounts of cocaine, which was repackaged, mixed and sold to users in the area of the City of Skopje.

Police say that it has been documented and that this group used violence and threats to cocaine users who did not pay for the purchased cocaine timely.

During the conduct of the investigation, a large number of material evidence has been provided and numerous cocaine sales to managers of coffee bars, nightclubs and restaurants, then lawyers, directors, bankers and employees in public administration have been documented, MoI said.
