I guarantee you that not even in my lifetime but even further on, no citizens of this country willingly or naturally will use the new name, VMRO-DPMNE’s international secretary Timco Mucunski told Greek Skai TV.

Mucunski announced that the priority of this country with the formation of the new government will be putting Macedonia on the fast track towards EU membership and reopening these issues, the issue of self-determination which has been totally negated with the Prespa Agreement.

It is much easier to do when you are inside the club, when you are on an equal footing with all the other EU member states. The possibility within legal means exists and very much depends on the final outcome of the election itself, Mucunski said.

Asked why he says Macedonia in the conversation and why he does not use the country’s new name, he says that it would never change.

I guarantee you that not even in my lifetime but even further on, no citizens of this country willingly or naturally will use the new name It comes from, like I said, the basic right of self-determination, but also the fact that nobody can’t deny what I am, I am Macedonian from Macedonia. And I think neither culturally, lexically, or in any other form, this will change in this country, Mucunski said.
