VMRO-DPMNЕ deputy leader Aleksandar Nikoloski warned that Macedonia will not receive a date to open EU accession talks as long as Zoran Zaev remains as Prime Minister. Nikoloski credits this to Zaev’s inability to reform the country.

Even with a replaced name we will not begin accession talks. The reason for this is the complete lack of reforms. The Government was given a very clear signal. So long as Zaev is Prime Minister, there will be no EU accession date. He will get his invitations to informal summits, but nobody wants to open accession talks with a liar, with a corrupt person. He came back from Berlin ashen faced and won’t disclose what was said to him, Nikoloski said.
