Former Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Ljubomir Kuchukov warned that there is no time by the European Council in mid December to resolve the dispute with Macedonia, and that Bulgaria can’t open the EU accession talks by then.

At the moment, in Bulgaria, the talks to form a new Government are yet to begin. There is no way to reach such a decision before the EU summit, Kuchukov said.

The two leaders of the PP party, which won the elections and is negotiating the creation of the next Government – Kiril Petkov and Asen Vasilev – are expected to modearate the Bulgarian position, but it’s not clear when this could happen, or to what extent.
