VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski warned that prosecutors tied to the Government are attempting to deflect the corruption scandal away from the ruling SDSM party by fabricating allegations against the opposition.

Mickoski said that Zoran Mileski – Zoki Kicheec, one of the two people charged so far in the racketeering scandal, was being “advised” to make up a claim that he gave money to Mickoski, to help reduce the intense pressure SDSM is under, and would in exchange receive leniency in the charges against himself. A number of SDSM supporters on the social media were busy spreading this story over the past several days, in response to the mounting allegations against Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and his deputy Radmila Sekerinska.

The SDSM goal is to drag me into this mess. They are offering Mileski leniency if he testifies in this direction. I tell them, provide any evidence that I was involved and I will turn myself in. No need to bother prosecutor Ruskoska or judge Redzepagic, I will go to prison myself, Mickoski offered during his press conference today.

Mileski is charged with extorting 1.5 million EUR from businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, along with showman Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13. The two are widely believed to have worked with top SDSM party officials and with Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva to extort money from businessmen Janeva would charge with various crimes.
