United States Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer after meeting with Zoran Zaev said that they discussed the situation in the country and the region, as well as developments in Brussels. He added that the talks also focused on the adoption of the NATO accession protocol in the United States, as well as on our country’s EU aspirations.

We expect North Macedonia to become the 30th member of the Alliance in a short time. We reaffirmed US support to EU integration, and we pass that on to our European partners, Palmer said.

In response to a journalist question, the senior US diplomat said the United States continued to support the implementation of the Prespa Agreement, which he said was the basis for peace and stability in the entire Balkan region. “We are confident that it will continue to be implemented step by step”, Palmer said.
