Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew welcomed the process of reconciliation between the Macedonian and the Serbian churches, which led to a joint service in Belgrade and now in Skopje.

Bartholomew called this an act of reconciliation, noting that it came days after the Ecumenical Patriarchate acknowledged the Macedonian church saying it is now in canonical unity with the other Orthodox churches.
