President Stevo Pendarovski repeated his call that the charges of racketeering that were brought against Boki 13 and the suspicions that Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva were involved in serious crimes and abuse of office, are investigated quickly.

We are seeing a major affair break these past few days. There are lost of speculations, and I don’t think it would constitute political pressure if I asked that this so-called situation is resolved as soon as possible, to the end, so that there truly is no room left for anybody to claim that someone was protected from investigation or that some old practices from the past are being recycled, when politicians were protecting criminal businesses, Pendarovski said.

Pendarovski also asked that overall divisions in Macedonia are reduced and that the politicians unite around the strategic goals of joiuning EU and NATO and improving inter-ethnic relations.

Pendarovski was a vocal activist of the Colored revolution which promoted Katica Janeva as a heroic prosecutor as she was accusing officials from the VMRO-DPMNE party of various crimes. Asked last week if, as President, he would grant Zoran Zaev a pardon in case it is confirmed that the Prime Minister was involved in the racketeering, Pendarovski categorically said “no”.
