President Stevo Pendarovski met Tuesday with Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto to discuss bilateral relations and Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic perspective.

President Pendarovski expressed confidence that during the current Finnish presidency of the EU Council, Macedonia’s progress would be recognized and valued and affirmed with a positive decision to begin accession negotiations with the EU.

Pendarovski stressed that Macedonia highly appreciates the constructive, clear and unreserved support of Finland on our path to full-fledged membership in the European Union, stressing that the Euro-Atlantic perspective is a guarantee for the prosperity and stability of the region.
