Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic has said that Serbia is getting weapons from countries that appear to be open enemies of Europe and NATO and hopes that this will help clarify the image of the Western Balkans region in some important political speeches within the European Union and the Euro-Atlantic communities, reports “Objektiv.rs”.

He added that armaments were always a concern and that it showed a growing sense of threat in Europe.

It should not be overlooked that, unfortunately, the overall culture and security in the Balkans is not at the same level as in other parts of developed Europe. That’s why we are generally concerned about that. In this case, it is a prolonged tendency for Serbia to get weapons from countries that are now emerging as competitors of both Europe and NATO. That is something that should be registered, said Djukanovic in Cetinje, answering reporters’ questions, reports CDM.

Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski, with whom Djukanovic met, said there was no assessment that Serbia posed a security threat to the country.
