President Stevo Pendarovski expects EU member states to give their consent and the country to get a date for the opening of accession negotiations.

Regarding whether we will get a date for the start of EU accession negotiations in June, Pendarovski says that there is a time frame that the German Bundestag may not be able to fulfill in order to give its consent by June 21 as an important member state to start the accession negotiations.

He points out that it is a certain technical shift of dates. If it is not resolved by 21 June, it may be resolved in early July.

It is not clear if they will get to give consent. The political consent of all key and all other EU states to start negotiations in 2019 is here. Until now, no European country has said that Macedonia does not deserve to get a date for negotiations. No European state, no European statesman has said that Macedonia has not delivered what was told in the last EU summit in Sofia, said Pendarovski on Friday, adding that the meetings of the highest political authorities of the EU will be held June 17-21.

According to President Pendarovski, no European state says that the opening of EU accession negotiations should be postponed, in 2020 or 2021.
