President Stevo Pendarovski will have the opportunity to hear directly from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, about France’s views on enlargement and the new negotiation methodology at their meeting in Paris on Tuesday.

The Macedonian President had earlier said that the meeting was a good opportunity to present the arguments of both sides, namely to hear Macron’s motives, noting that Macedonia had no reservations about the announced new methodology.

Pendarovski expects Macedonia to receive a stronger signal in the coming period on the question of whether the outcome of the last European summit, that is, France, which opposes the start of accession negotiations with Macedonia and Albania, can be influenced.

Macron has so far repeatedly stressed that he insists on previous internal EU reforms and changes to the methodology for admission of new member states.
