Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will pay Thursday a visit to the city of Sandanski to take part at a meeting of local authorities from Bulgaria and Macedonia, as part of the cross-border cooperation programme 2021-2027, MIA reports from Sofia.

The Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski will also take part in the meeting in Sandanski, where he will meet with the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works of Bulgaria, Grozdan Karadzov.

As informed by the Macedonian Ministry of Local Self-Government, the delegation led by Minister Milevski includes twenty-five mayors of the municipalities in the border region, who will meet with their Bulgarian counterparts in Sandanski.

The meeting will focus on strengthening co-operation on joint cross-border projects funded by the European Union’s IPA instrument, as well as exchanging experiences on municipal development and their digital transformation, the Ministry of Local Self-Government said.
