The Public Prosecutor’s Office said Friday that the tapes published in the Italian newspaper related to the “Racket” case have not been obtained by the Prosecutor’s Office, but that it was audio and video materials that were part of the probe into the case, which were submitted to the Public Prosecutor’s Office by a witness in the case.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office handles the case professionally and unselectively. All the indications and all aspects are being checked. The investigation is ongoing and the public prosecutor is taking investigative actions to secure the evidence and establish the factual situation in accordance with a prepared plan that provides a thorough investigation into the case. If elements of other crimes or other perpetrators are identified during the investigation, the procedure will be extended and the public will be informed immediately. A public prosecution ruling will be made after the investigation is complete, the statement said.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office also stresses that the vacations do not affect the conduct of the investigation.

During the period when some public prosecutors use annual leave, they are replaced by prosecutors, as well as investigators who are active on a daily basis. The work of the Public Prosecutor’s Office runs smoothly, the Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
