During the press conference on Sunday, following the meeting of party leaders, opposition VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski was noticeably treated as the next Prime Minister by the press. Journalists were asking Mickoski about the policies he would be implementing, which was noticed in the social media.

Mickoski received the most questions by the press, as he was leaving the meeting when the VMRO request for early general elections in the spring was accepted by other party leaders.

Zoran Zaev, on the other hand, tried to put a brave face, but the failure of his key policy goal – to open the EU accession talks as a reward for the name change he imposed on the country – showed both in his posture and in the overall mood across the country.
