Vilma Ruskoska, head of the organized crime division of the OJO state prosecutor’s office, and normally a reliable supporter of the Zaev Government in its campaign of political persecution against the opposition, announced today that she is working on several investigations against current Government officials.

I can’t reveal more information since the investigations are secret, Ruskoska told the press.

She only specified that the cases cover financial crime and corruption.

Zaev is pressed to deliver on fighting crime and corruption in his own ranks as well, as Macedonia asks to be allowed to open EU accession talks. Under pressure from the EU, the number three person in the Public Administration Ministry was recently arrested after being caught accepting 40.000 EUR in bribes to help a British company win an EU contract worth a million EUR.
