Until 31 December 2021, the public sector employed 132,088 people in 1,346 institutions, 905 more compared to 2020. Most of the employees work in the sectors of education and the average age is 46 years, shows the annual report on public sector employees that Minister of Information Society and Administration Admirim Aliti presented on Thursday.

The Minister informed at the press conference that a project is underway which, as he said, envisages one of the bravest changes in the administration. They, Aliti stressed, will mean a complete reorganization of state administration bodies, agencies and inspection services at the horizontal level, elimination of any overlap of the competencies of the institutions and introduction of a clear hierarchical subordination according to the competencies of the institution.
