This is a great tragedy, especially when 12 children were killed, said chief Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski from the scene of the accident. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

I am satisfied with the current cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office in Bulgaria. We have had professional cooperation for many years and I believe that they will professionally clarify all the circumstances in this event. We will provide assistance in the area of providing documentation, identifying the victims and everything that is needed in the investigation, said Joveski.

Answering reporters’ questions, Bulgarian prosecutors said they were working on all versions, and that statements were currently being taken from witnesses who were at the scene. The Bulgarian prosecutor added that there was a second driver, but it is presumed that he was also killed.

They revealed that no further investigation will be conducted in Macedonia, and all experts will be provided by the Bulgarian side. On the other hand, the head of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption, Vilma Ruskovska, said that the owner of the transport company was at the scene.

The owner of the transport company is also here, he said that he has had a transport company for 20 years and so far they have not had any incident. However, we will provide the complete documentation for all buses, ie when they are registered and when they underwent technical inspection and we will forward them to our Bulgarian colleagues, said Ruskovska.

The documents for the ownership of the bus have been provided and we will hand them over to our Bulgarian colleagues, added Joveski.
