The SDSM party issued an evasive non-denial when asked by PressingTV about the scandal in which an SDSM party official was caught spreading a fake news that the opposition VMRO-DPMNE party is funded by Russian intelligence.

SDSM party head in Prilep Viktor Azmanoski is the person behind the news site Revolucioner which apparently took a report in the Russian Novaya Gazeta newspaper, about a large sum of money found with an FSB intelligence service officer, and photoshopped the name of VMRO leader Hristijan Mickoski into the article. This was done to create the appearance that the money – more than 1.6 million EUR – were meant to fund VMRO. The fake news was spread ahead of the early general elections in Macedonia, at a time when the SDSM party is busily spreading similar allegations that the opposition is working for Russia.

When asked to comment, SDSM chose to ignore the issue, but list instances where they claim VMRO-DPMNE was behind false media reports.

There are a million of examples that come from the “white castle” (VMRO-DPMNE’s party office) that is enough to tell you that VMRO, and not SDSM, is involved in spreading fake news, SDSM said in its non-response.
