Prosecutors are interrogating former SDSM party deputy leader Frosina Remenski, who is the highest profile official of the ruling party to be questioned over the major Boki 13 racketeering scandal.

Remenski was seen entering the office of state prosecutor Vilma Ruskoska this morning. She is a close friend of showman Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13, and sat on his bogus charity which Boki was allegedly using to extort money from businessmen.

Media outlets widely speculated that Remenski is one of the two high level SDSM officials pointed out by journalist Branko Geroski in his initial reports on the scandal. Since then, with the publication of the La Verita tapes, other, even higher level SDSM and Government officials were named, including Prime Minister Zoran Zaev. These growing allegations led to a noticeable drop in enthusiasm among prosecutors, who started the case strongly a month and a half ago, but then had to be pushed by the public into questioning Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva.

Remenski was active in the SDSM led Colored Revolution which brought down the VMRO-DPMNE led Government, and was a proponent of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, a highly partisan institution whose head Janeva is now also detained on the charges of using her office to extort money.

Remenski’s husband Jovce Remenski is the head of the anti-terrorism department of the Interior Ministry. Pressed by the growing allegations against his wife, a week ago he took to Facebook to issue threats against opposition leaders, announcing mass arrests. Remenski deleted his threats shortly after.
